Some of the best love stories of all time is: Cleopatra and Mark Anthony, Lancelot & Guinevere, Tristan and Isolde …and then you get Alex and Melissa.
I see happy couples getting married once, twice, sometimes three times a week, and I can promise you one thing, this is one of the best love stories ever! I love, love, love this two.
So friendly, so genuine, so appreciative…with the most amazing parents as well. Really one big happy family. It of course helped a lot with the photo shoot that they are both beautiful people as well. But I think the fact that we got along personally as well, made for a super wedding shoot.
They are not just one of my favourite couples of all time, they also got married at Mellow Oaks which is VERY special for me…because Surika and I got married there.
Alex and Melissa, it was such an honour to be your wedding photographer, and I enjoyed every second of editing your wedding.
I asked them a couple of questions about their wedding, how they met each other and how they got engaged:
How did you meet?
We met at Church 5 years ago. We immediately knew that we were meant for each other and that God brought us together. And so the journey began…
Tell us about the proposal
The proposal was very different from the ordinary…
I surprised Melissa with a lovely breakfast on the 16th of June 2012.
As it was our Anniversary we always treat each other – so she did not expect anything…
After we had our breakfast I brought a beautiful bunch of pink roses to her room with the ring in the middle.
So then she was so surprised when I asked her to marry me, and of course she made me the luckiest man on earth when she said: YES!!
Tell us about your wedding day:
Our wedding day: WOW, what a magical day it was…!
The day we waited so long for, finally arrived.
Everything was perfect that day – no unwanted surprises and drama.
This was the one day (of many) that everything went super smooth without any hick-ups.
Melissa’s dress was absolutely AMAZING – she really blew me away from the moment the doors opened and I saw my beautiful bride…
Everybody at “Mellow Oaks” went out of their way to make our dream wedding so special.
The whole day was one big highlight for us!

…and the Honeymoon
We went to Phuket – Thailand & Singapore.
We had so much fun exploring all the beautiful beaches in Thailand and the wonder of Singapore.
