Brendon and Netley’s wedding in Randfontein

_MG_3536

Brendon and Netley got married on 11 December 2010. This people KNOW how to party…and nobody was in any kind of hurry. The bride was about an hour late. It was a BIG wedding, everybody seems to be friends in Toekomsrus, which is a good thing, until you have to pay for your own wedding I suppose!

Brendon and Netley came to my studio earlier the year and we did a pre wedding photoshoot with them and their cute little daughter Pona. We used the photos taken here to design and print their wedding invitation. It looked like this:

After the wedding ceremony it started raining…a lot! Everybody from the wedding drove in a convoy up and down the streets of Toekomsrus, swerving to the left and right of the road like Formula 1 cars on the warming up lap. The guy in front of me made a couple of 360 degree doughnuts on the road…the first time nearly into me…I wasn’t expecting it…I backed off after that!

Because it was still raining we had to take all the photos of the couple under thatch lapas at Uncle Harry’s road house!

I will remember the lamb curry at the wedding for a long time, the Master of ceremonies told me proudly that he made it himself.

The jack of all trades at the weddings seems to have been a guy with the name of “Bokka”, look out for him in the photos, he is the one with the multi colour beach hat. He was the make-up artist, the hairdresser and he seems to have been in charge in the kitchen at the reception. There was no caterers here, it seems to me as if everybody that was good at a certain kind of meal made it! Look out for the preparation of the stew photo later in this blog post!

The cake was the biggest I have ever seen, the person that baked this most be very proud of her trade. (I posted a pic for you to see the cake with bridges and all) Talking about cakes, every guest got a small little fruit cake with icing and packed in a box, given to them personally by the bride and groom!

There were to many special moments and things to mention in this blog post.

Brendon and Netley, I wish you all the happiness in the world, may the rest of your life’s be as joyous an occasion as your wedding was!

I will travel to any place in South Africa to photograph your wedding. My skype name is jccrafford.
