Phew! I’m about halfway with the redesigning of my new website/blog. This is hard work. But very exciting and fulfilling to visit those magic moments that I have photographed in the last year. I’m a romantic at heart, so I wonder… How is it going with the 28 couples I photographed in 2010? Are they still as happy and bright eyed as on their wedding day? If things go bad for a little while….and they always do… we are only human. Revisit this website and see how much you loved and cared for your special person on your wedding day. Then go back and work HARD on your marriage again!
But now it’s 2011 and I’m really looking forward to the weddings and photo shoots booked for this year. This weekend I am photographing Christine and Wiets’s wedding in Rustenburg, The 22 nd Bennie and Yolandi’s wedding on the East rand (I met them last night, they are two lovely people and Landi is going to make a beautiful, beautiful bride.) The 28’th it is Vicky and Terry’s wedding in Parktown and the 29th Juanita and Tommy’s wedding at Mellow Oaks in Roodepoort.
I had a family photo shoot earlier this week with Hermanus and Eunita and kids…here is one photo so long that I really liked.
This afternoon I have a photoshoot with Chantal in my studio.
So…I am busy…but I love every second of it. This is what I love doing most! This is what I want to do even if I win the Powerball! Thanks to all the people that visited this website in the first 6 days it’s been up. I was VERY pleasantly surprised when I had a look at the Google Analytics yesterday!
To all the couples that gave me the INCREDIBLE honour to photograph their weddings last year! THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I think back with fondness and love to each and every one of you. I will (just like you) treasure your special day in my heart. Can I tell you a secret? (I’ve shed a tear at each and every one of your weddings)
To the people that have booked their weddings already for this year…I am SO looking forward to be part of your special day!
To the people that are still looking for their wedding photographer to photograph their wedding in 2011. I’ve read a VERY interesting comment last night that was made by Jose Villa, he is considered as one of the world’s 10 best wedding photographers:He said: “Remember that the camera is only an extension of what you are as a person” What that means? Make sure you get a photographer that believe as much in love as you do on your wedding day. I don’t think you can get a guy that is out of love with his wife to photograph love? What do you think?
To Surika, my day and night… thanks for making all this possible by believing in me and making myself believe in me again! I love you! I’m forever indebted…and am happily paying it off!
My favourite shot of the last year? This is like choosing between your children.I’m sorry…I’ve tried, I can not choose one shot as the best. I think all the photos together must tell the story of the day.

” Photographers are record keepers for God”
Perhaps that is all we are?
Enjoy your year
