Diep in die Berg Wedding

A day I won’t easily forget. This must be the funniest bunch of people I have ever photographed. I think there were times when we laughed more than we took photographs. But overall a hugely successful wedding. Nice sincere friends and family, a beautiful bride, a funny loving husband that could have been a GQ model judging from some of his poses (You were actually VERY good Martin) all contributed to one of the most enjoyable weddings I have ever photographed.

Wedding Venue – Diep in die Berg

I can of course not neglect to mention Diep in die Berg in Pretoria. It was my first time there as a wedding photographer … and I was VERY impressed with the venue, the service and the food. Only one way to describe them. EXCELLENT.

My wife Surika was the second shooter at the wedding, I sent her to the groom and best men to photograph them. Surika said Martin was VERY nervous, his friends tried to make jokes with him, but he didn’t even laugh. After they poured him a drink he started relaxing!

And after the first drink he wanted to take the bottle to the wedding … luckily it didn’t fit. (only a joke)

Michelle is just so photogenic, friendly and willing to do anything … any wedding photographer’s dream bride.

One of my favourite photographs at the wedding, half an hour to go. Must be the most stressful time for any bride.

Ahhh sweet. I just love photographing little flower girls. They are always so excited about their dresses. This is where their dreams of their own weddings and what it would be like one day are formed.

Look at that eyes! Look like Michelle is planning something here!

Father of the groom, he also handled the ceremony. One of the nicest and most down to earth ministers I have ever met.

You see what I mean with GQ Model? LOL. We actually teased Martin about it!

Divided loyalties. The Springboks were playing during the wedding. Luckily we won!

This was officially the most I have EVER seen a groom suffer with his speech. He was well prepared, but his friends just NEVER gave him a break. I actually felt sorry for him later on. But Martin handled it gracefully, and the parts of his speech i could hear was actually very good.

After a LONG struggle, Martin finally got the garter off! Can you see how exhausted he is?
