Green Leaves Wedding

Theonetta came to see me earlier this year and asked me to be their wedding photographer. They got married at Green Leaves near Hartbeespoortdam. Right from the word go I absolutely LOVED her. She is so friendly, so caring and liven up any room when she walk in. She is the kind of person that you WANT to do something extra for. I was looking forward to meeting the guy she would marry.

Their reception was something I enjoyed, lots and lots of caring outgoing friends and family that are just like Hennie and Theonetta. It almost felt like I was between my own friends!

Something funny happened during the photo shoot. We were shooting between the pecan nut trees and there was a lot of dead leaves underneath the trees. I wanted to ask Theonetta to sit down on the leaves, but I was scared that her dress will get to dirty on the dead leaves. The next moment Theonetta stepped into a hole in the ground and fell down, she landed exactly in the position I wanted to photograph her. I just told her to sit still and took the photos I envisioned. We all had a good laugh after we saw she was ok and not really hurt.

I must tell you guys how Hennie and Theonetta met, that just shows they were meant for each other. They both went to watch a game of the Blue Bulls at Lofts. Hennie’s brother would have gone with, but couldn’t make it. Theonetta wanted to take somebody else with, but decided against it. That resulted in an empty seat next to Hennie … the person at the other side of the empty seat was Theonetta. They started chatting during the game…and started seeing each other after that. What is the chance of that? How many people can fit into this stadium? 51,000! And this two end up next to each other.

Hennie and Theonetta, thanks for the incredible privilege of being your wedding photographer. I will always have fond memories of you and your friends and family.
