Martin and Lihandri
What can one say about these two? It was an absolute pleasure and an honor to be their wedding photographer and Videographer. They are just the kindest most beautiful and friendly souls you will ever meet. They started dating at university, and many years later this beautiful relationship culminated in their big day.
They stay in Kirkwood in the Eastern Cape. I have been friends with Lihandri’s mom Liesl for more than 20 years, so I knew Lihandri from a bubbly little child. From an early age, one knew that she is a very special one-of-a-kind person. When I heard that she is getting married I immediately asked if we can capture the memories of her wedding day.
We drove the 1076 km down to Kirkwood and camped out in Martin’s garden. A lot of the family from all over South Africa were gathered in Kirkwood already. There was a festive mood in Martin’s house and a nice braai the evening before the wedding.
Martin, Lihandri, and friends and family did all the decorations themselves at the Shamrock Chapel and Belle Vue Wedding Venue . This must have been a MASSIVE job. And, it really looked incredibly beautiful, more beautiful in fact than the work most professional wedding venues did. Well done you guys!
Our day started early at the venue photographing everything and after that, we went to Hitgeheim Country Lodge where Martin and his groomsman got dressed. We even got them all to jump in the pool for us for a nice action shot.
Lihandri and her bridesmaids got dressed at Kududu Guest House nearby. Everyone was in a VERY happy mood and Liesl was running around making sure her daughter is happy and ready for the wedding.
The ceremony was outside at the Shamrock Chapel overlooking all the beautiful Kirkwood Orchards below. There was not many dry eyes around as Lihandri walked down the aisle with dads Martin and Kallie. (Have a look at Martin’s face in the photos)
The beautiful service was handled by their pastor CJay Jansen.
After that, we started with their photoshoot. To say the two were ecstatic about being married is a total understatement.
The evening was a very happy affair with people from all over South Africa. A wedding very few people attending will ever forget.
Martin and Lihandri, it was such a pleasure to see two such beautiful God-fearing young people starting their life together. And it is so awesome to see how God can work two bring two such special matching people together. May every day of your married life be as beautiful as your wedding day.
Love you guys to bits.
