Mellow Oaks Wedding

What a lovely couple, fantastic friends and a beautiful wedding. We had a bit of a rain scare, we were doing the couple shoot after the ceremony, and within 10 minutes we had to ran into the church because it was raining. Luckily we could continue with the wedding shoot about 15 minutes later. Their guests really enjoyed the party … as you will be able to gather from the photos.

Peter and Talitha’s Story

Peter and I met in high school, he was 2 years ahead of me. We were both in the Student Representative Council and started noticing one another from there. We have been together for 10 years now and it keeps getting better.

On the 25 December 2011 we had a breakfast, just the 2 of us at home. Already I had a suspicion that something was coming … So present opening came along and in between my pink slippers was a little box … My heart stopped … On opening I discovered that it was another charm for my nomination bracelet; it was 2 rings joined together … He asked me if I knew what this means, to which I responded very nervously … Yes …

He then walked over to the Christmas tree and pulled the ring out and got down on one knee. Through the tears performed a beautiful proposal and afterward we both sat on the couch laughing through the tears.

I have been to Mellow Oaks a couple of times before to photograph weddings and they always surprise me with the effort they put into every wedding. The decor, food, service, everything is just sublime. There is a lot of places where a wedding photographer can photograph his couple.
