So, Elbe and Morne’s big day has arrived. I’ve met Elbe before, she was one of the bridesmaids at her sister Niki’s wedding that I photographed about a year and a half before. I always love it when you photograph somebody else in a family’s wedding. 1. You’ve met a lot of the people before so it’s almost like a reunion. 2. At least they thought the family members photos weren’t that because they chose you again..lol.
But Niki and Elbe are two such lovely people inside and out, it was only a pleasure to meet up with them again in Round two of the Van Wyk wedding story.
Elbe got married at the beautiful Everwood Wedding venue near Krugersdorp, a very intimate wedding venue, with some awesome places to take photos.
And put the beautiful Elbe and the “very much in love with his wife” Morne in these settings, and you can see why IÂ enjoyed the day so much.
The rest of the day went by quickly, as always when you are having a lot of fun. Everything was perfectly organised, so nothing out of the ordinary to  comment on.
Just a beautiful wedding, celebrated by loved ones and friends.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to photograph your special day Elbé and Morne. may you have an awesome life together.
Here is a few words from the bride:
JC, I would just like to thank you again for our amazing wedding photos!! Could not have asked for any better proof of the amazing day we had.
Morne and I met through mutual friends at Oppi-Koppi in 2013. A month later we were dating and a month after that we knew what we both wanted. A marriage and a life together.
Just before our 1st anniversary he surprised me with a weekend away. Completely surprised. Had no idea. Spend the entire day walking around, doing just what we liked. That night he took me to a beautiful hotel in Sandton with a stunning view. Rose petals everywhere, and asked me the question most woman dream of.
The wedding day arrived quickly. Everyone kept asking if I was nervous. I wasn’t. I knew exactly who I was marrying. My bridesmaids were more nervous about tripping on the way down the isle. Walking down as I saw him, I saw he had tears in his eyes. I will never forget that. Seeing that emotion on his face.
My beautiful dress was made by Morne’s aunt. Couldn’t imagine doing it any other way. She made the entire process so simple.
My flowers were a surprise to Morne. He LOVES orange. I hate it. So the orange one in my bouquet was for him. Private joke. Laughed a lot about that.
Hair was the only bit of drama that I would like to forget. So wont be mentioning his name.
Makeup was done by Janelle Donders. AMAZING woman. Easy to get along with. And the results… Flawless. 082 292 9083
Honeymoon…. I cant even type that without a smile on my face. 2 weeks of utter bliss in Thailand with my husband. Hot as hell, but amazing!!
Advice to other brides? Take advice from others, there will be plenty who will want to give it. BUT… do it your way. It’s your big day. Not theirs. And in the end, not everything will work out according to plan anyway!! Hehe
With lots of love
(And newlywed bliss)
